Perfect Oil-Free Air-Fried Kale Chips

Eat as many as you want of these crunchy, tasty chips made from just kale and a few seasonings in a few minutes in your air fryer. If you don't have an air fryer, you can make these in the oven and I will include those directions underneath.

Vegan Cooking Level: Beginner

Get your ingredients together and watch how I do it just below!

Ingredients

3 cups chopped kale, large stems removed

2 tbsp. tamari (or soy sauce or liquid or coconut aminos)

2 tbsp. nutritional yeast

optional: 1/2 tsp. cayenne pepper

optional: 1 tbsp. "Everything But The Bagel Seasoning"

How to:

Step 1: Remove stems from chopped kale and place in a large bowl. Scatter tamari, nutritional yeast and optional seasonings over the kale. Turn over the kale and mix gently with your hands.

Step 2: Place in a basket-style air fryer lined on the bottom with parchment paper, set to 355 degrees F for 6 minutes. Press start and then pause at 4 minutes and turn the kale chips over...they will look wilted and feel soft. Go another minute and check for crispyness and browned edges. Go another minute if they are still soft but watch because they burn easily...It all depends on the size of your chips how long to leave them in and that is up to you. When done, Pour them directly into a bowl and enjoy - these chips taste best when warm and crispy as they lose crisp as they cool.

OVEN DIRECTIONS: Set oven temperature to 300 degrees F. Arrange seasoned kale pieces on a parchment-lined cookie sheet. Bake for 10 minutes and check. When they release from the parchment paper you can move them around with your fingers and replace in the oven for another 5-10 minutes until browned and crunchy, as described above.
