All-Natural No-Sugar Sweet-Tart Cranberry Sauce
I'm about to break the internet: I am making cranberry sauce without cups of sugar! Here's how I do it, and you can, too:
Vegan Cooking Level: Beginner
Ingredients
1 12-oz. bag of fresh or frozen cranberries
1/2 cup (a bit more or less) fresh-squeezed orange juice
1 apple (any kind) shredded
1/4 cup walnuts or pecans, crushed coarse
1/4 tsp. to 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
2 twists salt
2-3 tbsps. pure maple syrup

How To:
Step 1: Add all ingredients to a pot on medium (or a touch higher) heat so cranberries and liquids can come to a soft boil.
Step 2: Mash with a potato masher as berries cook. They are nearing "done" when they begin to pop and can easily be mashed. Turn down heat a bit if necessary to keep berries to a low boil for about 10-15 min, mashing every few minutes to desired consistency.
Step 3: Let cool. Serve hot or cold. Sauce will continue to thicken as it cools and even more in the fridge.
Serve for Holiday Meals or even over Oatmeal or N'ice Cream!
